MED ADVANTAGE ACQUIRES
AGREEMENT WITH HEALTHSOURCE INNOVATIVE MEDICAL MANAGEMENT, INC
Orlando, FL, November 11, 1996 - Med Advantage announced today that it has contracted with
Healthsource Innovative Medical Management, Inc., a subsidiary of Healthsource Inc.
located in Hooksett, New Hampshire. Med Advantage was selected as one of the credentialing
outsourcing vendors for the plans operating under the HMO and other business lines.

Vice President of Med Advantage. Laura Webb, Corporate Credentialing Consultant for
Healthsource Innovative Medical Management, Inc. says "Med Advantage will assist us
in maintaining accreditation with the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) by
simplifying the credentialing process. Med Advantage will receive the credentialing data
in both paper and electronic form, perform the credentialing functions and return a hard
copy and a data transfer to us".
Healthsource Inc. offers a variety of managed care products including a Health Maintenance
Organization (HMO), and Point Of Service Plan to more than 3.5 million individuals in 15
states.
Med Advantage, a nationwide CVO, has been providing credentialing services to the managed
care industry for over three years. The organization has a database of approximately
850,000 MD’s and DO’s. The database holds over 4.6 million verified elements of
information such as education, (including medical schools, internships, residencies and
fellowships), Board Certification from the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS),
DEA certification from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Medicare and Medicaid sanctions
from the Department of Health and Human
Services (DHHS) and license verifications from state licensing agencies.
Med Advantage has received certification from the NCQA effective for 12 months in the
following areas: License to Practice, Hospital Privileges, DEA/CDS Certification, Board
Certification / Residency Completion / Medical School Graduation, Malpractice Insurance,
Claims History, NPDB Query, FSMB/Sanctions Against Licensure and Medicare/Medicaid
Sanctions.

The National Committee for Quality Assurance, located in Washington, D.C., is an
independent, non-profit organization that certifies credentials verification
organizations, and accredits managed care organizations.
Med Advantage offers organizations such as HMO’s, PPO’s, IPA’s, PHO’s
and Hospitals the opportunity to outsource portions or all of the credentialing process.
