Med Advantage and Medsite Form ALLIANCE
Medsite to Launch Online Credentialing Service,
Replacing Time-Intensive Paper-based Systems
ORLANDO
April 24, 2000
--- MedAdvantage, Inc. (Med Advantage), one of the nation’s largest
Credentials Verification Organizations (CVO), today signed an alliance
agreement with Medsite, the physician’s home on the Internet.
Under the agreement, Med Advantage will provide the primary source
verification services to support
Medsite’s latest web tool for physicians, “Medsite
Credentialing.” This online
credentialing application service is designed to bring efficiency and speed
to the physician’s application process required by managed care
organizations and hospitals for compensation
Medsite Credentialing will feature a comprehensive
on-line data collection system, which will require physicians to complete
the data entry for a credentialing application only once, instead of filling
out dozens of credentialing forms. Medsite’s
technology then adapts the application information to the requirements of
individual Managed Care Organizations (MCO’s), thereby saving the
physician’s practice significant time and effort. Medsite Credentialing launched April 3.
"The ongoing evolution
of healthcare has created an ever-increasing demand for documentation,
requiring physicians to spend significant time on paperwork,” said Sundeep
Bhan, founder and CEO of Medsite. "As with all of Medsite’s services
and products, Medsite Credentialing is designed to offer an efficient
solution to the physician’s professional and administrative needs. By creating a comprehensive, secure online credentialing
application service, we enable physicians to spend more time on what matters
most – patient care.”

between MCO’s and medical professionals, and improves the burdensome
credentialing process" said John B. Witty, Ed.D., President of Med
Advantage. "Med Advantage has an unparalleled focus in delivering
verification solutions to the healthcare industry and our partnership with
Medsite will make credentialing from medical professionals to MCO’s
affordable, timely and seamless.”
The partnership between
Medsite and Med Advantage is one of several strategic moves Med Advantage
has made over the past few months. Most
recently, Med Advantage partnered with CACTUS software, creating a marketing
force that brings the strength of two well-established organizations into
the healthcare information industry. CACTUS
has long been an industry leader in the network\credentialing software
business.
